DRC UPDATE
The DRC is currently in a state of trasition as disucssions are underway to move the DRC from The Conservation Foundation to the DuPage River Salt Creek Workgroup (DRSCW). This move is advantagous as the DRSCW already holds bi-monthly meetings and their organizational goals to improve water quality are in line with the DRC. The DRSCW has also partnered on developing and implementing portions of the watershed plan including a full scale, long-term bioassessment monitoring. If this move goes forward there will be some updates made to the by-laws to reflect the changes. All stakeholders will still be able to participate in the DRC regardless of their participation/membership in DRSCW. We are interested in any comments that any one has, please feel free to contact Andrea Cline at The Conservation Foundation. Check out the calendar of meeting dates and times.

Executive Committee

The DRC Executive Committee has four officers, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These offices are held for a two year term and are filled through a vote of the DRC members at the July quarterly meeting. To maintain continuity the terms are staggered with the President and Secretary and the Vice President and Treasurer elected on alternate years. Officers may be nominated from any of the member organizations.

The role of the officers is to provide leadership for the organization, develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations and promote the mission and vision of the DRC and the Watershed Plan. The DRC holds four partnership meetings each year and approximately four Executive Committee meetings each year to help with planning for the Partnership meetings.

C2000 Grant Review Committee

The C2000 grant review committee meets 2-3 time between December and April of each year to review C2000 grant submittals. Our goal is to help applicants develop the best grant applications/projects possible to bring as much C2000 funds to the watershed as possible. The review committee reviews applications, meets with applicants to provide suggestions to improve applications and then reviews all applications after submittal to score and rank projects. Please contact Andrea Cline at The Conservation Foundation if you are interested in participating on the Grant Review Committee, your participation does not impact your ability to submit grant applications. Please visit the C2000 Grant page for more information about the grant program.
