DuPage County's Division of Stormwater Management recently released Water Quality Best Management Practices
Technical Guidance document that was prepared as a part of Appendix E – Technical Guidance
for the DuPage Countywide Stormwater and Flood This document has information on the implementation of permanent water quality BMPs for both new construction and redevelopment. Practices include, but is not limited to, vegetated filter strips, permeable pavers and constructed wetland detention. The intention of the DRC has never been to stop development but to do it in a more earth friendly way. As redevelopment occurs through out our watersheds we should look at what might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reduce nonpoint source pollution from that site. In addition to the DuPage County BMP Manual the Center for Watershed Protection has also put together a very informative document about retrofit opportunities Urban Stormwater Retrofit Practices and Appendix |
