The Lower DuPage River Watershed Plan is a process to create a watershed plan that will meet criteria established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and new regional criteria from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). It is a collaborative effort between local stakeholders, following the Guidnace for Developing Waterhsed Action Plans in Illinois, created by CMAP and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA).
By creating the plan, we hope to restore and protect the Lower DuPage River Watershed. We believe that development can occur within the watershed while not being detrimental to water quality. By working cooperatively with stakeholders, land owners, local government, and other local organizations toward our goal, we believe water quality can be improved. Representatives are volunteering their personal and professional time to be a part of this effort and to reverse the current water quality findings, protect our resources and improve watershed residents quality of life.
This website will host information regarding the process and eventually will host the plan.
